Coming up on Sword and Scale Daily, a revier Massachusetts man was found guilty of the brutal

murder of his wife, a dedicated elementary school teacher. A third New York City taxi

driver is sentenced in a kidnapping and extortion plot that preyed on new arrivals at New

York City's Port Authority bus terminal. Finally, a West Virginia man who was in an incestuous

relationship with his daughter was charged with the first-degree murder of his daughter's

On Monday, November 18th, a Massachusetts jury found Andrew McCormick guilty of the murder

of his wife Vanessa, who was discovered dead in the bedroom of their revier home on September

23rd, 2017. Vanessa and Andrew married in 2015 and had a daughter in 2016. Vanessa was

a second grade teacher at Connery Elementary School in the City of Lynn. She was extremely

popular and neighbors and friends alike believed the couple was happy. On the afternoon

of September 23rd, Andrew McCormick called 911 to report that he had discovered his wife

dead. Vanessa was found in the bedroom, lying face down with massive trauma to her head

and a white plastic bag wrapped around her head. She was lying in a large pool of blood,

but other than that, the house was clean and the room smelled strongly of bleach. Vanessa's

nose had been broken and several of her teeth were missing. She had been stabbed five times

in the back and neck and the front of her neck was slashed. She was strangled so forcefully

that the cartilage at the top of her trachea was broken. There were no signs of forced

entry and a knife was missing from a block in the kitchen.
