In our current series here on Breitth, on being human, we're talking about four

aspects of life where a man or a woman can grow and improve and become more fruitful as a result.

And those four areas are the physical, the spiritual, the social, and the vocational.

Last week, as we continued to work through that third category, the social, we took up the issue of friendship.

But as you heard in that episode, one of the things you have to know about your social life is that not everyone is your friend.

Not everyone is going to be your friend. In fact, there are lots of important relationships that aren't friendship at all, but something else.

There will be acquaintances in your life, people to whom you have some duties, but not the duties

of friends. There are going to be members of your church that you don't necessarily connect with

deeply, but to whom you owe love and honor and service, maybe even by virtue of specific

membership vows that you took as a member

of your local church. Or social hierarchy. Lots of relationships in your life won't be the kind of

buddy-buddy relationship of a peer or a friend. You have to relate, for example, to many
