the above? Whatever it is, we can be pretty certain that it is real, that friendship has indeed fallen on hard times.

Many studies could be proffered to demonstrate this in terms of data.

Like the comparison between a 1990 Gallup study where only 3% of Americans surveyed said they had no close friends in a 2021 APS study, where that number had quadrupled, fully 12% of American adults saying they had no close friends in a 2021 APS study where that number had quadrupled,
