Ephesion 6.4. In our current series here on Brightheart on being human, we're talking through

four aspects of life where a man or a woman can grow and improve and become more fruitful as a result.

We've talked about the physical, talked about the spiritual, and now we're talking

about the social before we'll wrap up with the vocational. Last week, as we continued working

through that third aspect of human life, social life, we talked about those relationships

in your life that aren't just friendships, like relationships with your boss, your father, your

mother, your pastors, and more.

Today we'll be zeroing in on one more of those kinds of relationships, your relationship to

your children. Your children are not your friends. They are souls to be shaped under your authority.

The question at hand for this episode, given this, is simply, how can we help them learn to navigate social life with skill and with joy?

Or to put it even more simply, how can we help our kids not turn out to be huge and awkward dorks?

Now, we can laugh at that question, but this actually is one of our most important duties as parents.
