Today's 10 minute walk is helping you keep the fitness promise you made to yourself,

Today's walk is happening lake side, although you can hear traffic driving by, and it's also near an an airport so you'll hear air traffic as well.

It's a lake near our community that is near a couple of busy roads close to the airport.

Is that a white heron?

It was on my side of the lake. I think it sensed my presence and so flew to the other side of the lake.

And that's just about the only thing that I see at the moment.

Every now and then, oh wait, off in the distance, a couple of swans.

Every now and then we've got this population of geese here in the community where we live.

And every now and then, those geese will descend upon this lake.

And I'm talking like several dozen geese.

And when they're in the lake, that's fine.

When they're along the trail that I'm walking on, it can be a little intimidating

because those geese can actually get nasty

and you walk by and they'll hiss at you.

And we were actually talking to a neighbor yesterday who was talking

about their encounters with the geese and her husband actually was bit by one of the geese.

And she told us what to look for. So it's not just when they're hissing, but when they bend their neck down

and lower their head, that's when they're ready to strike. And so that's what we need to watch out for.

But right now, don't need to watch out for any of that because there are no geese on this pond,

just a couple of swans, the one heronon and I think I see four ducks oh no there's

maybe a half a dozen ducks a little bit further away so today's episode of walking is fitness
