This is your Wrestle Kingdom 17 review for January 4th, 2023 from the Tokyo Dome.

I am the Salomonster here on a Wednesday evening.

Little before I usually go live, we're going to be doing two streams tonight.

This is number one of two.

Tonight is a big episode of AEW Dynamite.

They loaded card, brand new set, all new graphics, all new look.

And we'll be talking about Dynamite a little bit later on.

But right now, I wanted to get in a quick review since I didn't finish the paper review

until just a couple of hours ago.

What I thought was a very, very long but very enjoyable show with a crowd of 26,085 fans.

That was New Japan's biggest crowd at the Tokyo Dome here since the pandemic started.

And even then, they mentioned this on commentary that if you combine the crowds for the last

two Wrestle Kingdoms.

The attendance here on this show beat that out when you combine the two numbers.

So it was nice to not only have that many people in the building, but for the first time

in a very long time, fans were allowed to cheer and do more than just clap.

They were allowed to actually make noise, which was nice.

It sounded like there was still a leery of doing so.

And I know that New Japan, there were some new rules that are in place.

There's still guidelines where you can't do certain things.

I don't know if that maybe had something to do with it, but at least they were able to make some actual noise.

Because that does make a difference on shows like this, especially when you're in a big building.
