Summary

In this chapter, Ned pushes further into his troubling pursuit of previewing the afterlife and contacting Courtney, guided by the spirit of Dr. Blackwell herself, who Ned's sister Ellen does not believe has her brother's safety and wellbeing in mind. She and her mother look to have Ned involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility before he completely sheds his "shell." (Also - I explain why this switched from a two-parter to a four-parter in the intro.)

The Welcome to another edition of Nightmarefeels and Peepers.

0:31.2

I'm Dan Cummins, and I'll be sharing the continuation of another original short story of the fictional horror variety.

0:36.7

And good news, bad news. I truly thought this was going to be a two-part story arc the fictional horror variety. And good news, bad news.

0:38.3

I truly thought this was going to be a two-part story arc when I finished recording part one last week.

0:43.2

Clearly, I jumped the gun.

0:44.8

Originally, I thought it was going to be a standalone episode when the concept came to me.

0:48.7

And yes, truly sorry about that.

0:51.0

This story just kind of took on a new life of its own.

0:54.1

The rhythm of it pulled me along a

0:55.8

lot farther than I thought it was going to. It is now going to be four parts, four big,

1:01.2

meaty parts, but that really is it because I stayed up really late to finish a rough draft of the

1:06.2

entire story arc, so I would definitively know when it would end. Yeah, truly sorry for the false advertisement after the first recording.

1:14.8

I will try not to make a false prediction again.

1:18.0

This story, it weirdly freaked me out more than the rest.

1:21.4

I'm not even saying that I like it more than any of the others or that it is scarier.

1:26.0

It's just, I don't know, just got under my

1:28.2

skin. I have not loved recording it by myself at the studio at night or working on it at

1:33.6

night because Dr. Blackwell feels weirdly real to me. Like she's out there somewhere,

1:40.5

chose me to tell her story instead of me coming up with it. That makes sense.

1:44.8

I don't know.

1:45.2

I almost never dream, but lately I've been waking up, like I just came out of a dream,

1:48.6

not a good one, and I think it has something to do with this shit being in my head.
