Hello and welcome to another episode of Iway with Gemina Jamil. I hope this episode finds you well.

I do want to quickly say thank you so much for how many messages you sent us last week

after a locues episode. We have something like 10,000 messages of love and support and

all of you telling me how much you'd learned, how much it changed your mind,

or your family's minds about certain issues. For those who don't know, we discuss the binary

of genders and trans issues, the history of trans, so much history of racism and gender non-conforming

existence and lifestyle and issues. It was such an informative hour where a locues just broke

everything down in such a clear and concise and memorable and beautiful way. So I highly recommend

it for those who haven't listened. But thank you again to those who do. Those messages don't

just mean something to me. They also mean a lot to the activists who come on the show and they

put themselves, they put their lives and their, you know, their own mental health in the line by

coming on to big platforms like this and talking about these incredibly difficult issues.

And the reason that they have to do what they do is because they live such an marginalized

existence. And so these people have hard lives and their timelines are sometimes really, really

awful and abusive and traumatic and exhausting. And so please, please carry on sending messages of

love and support and thanks to people who do that for a living because I heard personally from a

loak that they were really, really moved and touched by all of the messages that you sent. And,

you know, moments like that reaffirm, they're sometimes what feels like thankless work. So continue

to show all of that love to any activists that you see or follow online and remember that you are

contributing to drowning out all the negativity that they receive constantly just for bloody existing.
