first caught my attention in American Violet, but she's going to do work with our friend Steve McQueen and shame and made a big splash as far as I'm concerned in Sleepy Hollow.

Her newest project for which she's a recent Spirit Award nominee is Miss Juneteenth.

Let me ask you this, because one of the things I think is really interesting about

Mrs. Juneteenth, I wonder if it was one of the things you liked about it is that it's basically a bunch of little mysteries where we think we know people and as more time goes past in the script, we realize we

don't know them at all. Like, for example, we think we know her mom. It turns out we don't. We see

these people and as the story goes on, we get to know more and more about them. So it's like these

little mysteries being worked out. You know what? I love that perspective. I have never thought of it that way, like at all.

The sort of what the presentational version of the person is and then going a little bit deeper,

a few steps, you know, closer or seeing what's sort of behind the curtain. You're right.

There is an aspect of that. I think maybe that's something I'm

attracted to in like everything that I do. I always want to know, like, what's really going on in there,
