Welcome to The Treatment, the Home Edition. I'm Elvis Mitchell. My guest, director, Garrett Bradley, has made, I think, a short documentary into a new art form.

And she extended that talent expertise with her feature film time, which debuted about a year ago at the Sundance Film Festival and is on Amazon Prime.

And still continuing to astonish people with Garrett.

First of all, thanks so much for being here.

Thank you for having me, Elvis.

This is like a dream come true, man.

You have no idea.

Well, after we're done, we're going to go and buy you some new dreams,

so it's clearly you've got to shoot bigger,

but based on the kind of work you've been doing,

you don't need any help from me. First of all, let's talk about the title, Time, because it exists in your film as both kind of an abstraction and a real marker of life going by, doesn't it?

Yeah.

Yeah, it does.

I mean, I actually feel like titling things for me is like one of the hardest parts of making a film because it's

it's so definitive and it's something that like every part of my body wants to work against

you know I'm really more interested in the expansiveness of what films can do and the possibilities

that can exist out of that and time came to me out of that conundrum, out of that resistance.

And what I appreciated about the word itself was that clearly it was an integral part of

the story and an integral element to how the Richardson's as a family were existing in the

world.
