Welcome everyone at the score fantasy football podcast. I'm your host Justin Boone,

0:18.4

and this is the second of our week one takeaways episodes. There was just too much stuff to fit into one show. So we broke it up into two on Monday. We went over my takeaways for every AFC team. We also discussed the players who got injured in week one. And then we broke down the top waiver ads heading into week two. Today we're going to go over the Monday night stunner where the Seahawks shocked the Broncos and then we're going to

0:40.1

finish off those takeaways with my thoughts on every NFC team but before we get

0:43.9

to that I just want to make something clear I see a lot of people freaking out about

0:48.1

the bad results in week one and then on the flip side I see a lot of people taking

0:52.2

victory laps after one game and I'm not

0:54.5

here to rain on anybody's parade you do you you have fun with it but if the goal is to win

0:59.0

your fantasy league you got to look at things with a more refined eye don't pay all

1:03.4

your attention to just the final stat lines yardage touchdowns all that's great but

1:08.8

it's just one game and as we we saw, matchups and weather and

1:13.0

injuries, and there's a variety of factors that can come into play for one game. But what we really

1:18.1

want to do is take a closer look at the usage, how were guys being deployed, how often were

1:23.3

they on the field? Is the opportunity there for their stats to actually balance out over time,

1:28.1

or is there a real reason to be concerned? Because anything can happen in that small sample size.

1:32.4

So that's the goal with these takeaway shows to help give a realistic outlook for where

1:37.5

players stand after week one, and hopefully to provide some context for some of those results

1:41.8

that we saw. So let's start with the Monday Nighter, and I hit on the Broncos first because it was a pretty bad showing by them.

1:48.6

This is a team with Super Bowl aspirations. They have a legit quarterback now in Russell Wilson

1:53.5

and it was a weird matchup for him, you know, to go with the Broncos back to Seattle

1:58.5

against his old team. Pete Carroll and company, they know

2:01.7

Russ's tendencies better than anybody. And that certainly factored into this game. And it's a new

2:06.8

coaching staff and it's a new quarterback. And there's clearly some kinks that need to be ironed out
