This is a puzzler, Evan.

An Argentine judge assigned to investigate President Javier Malay's role in promoting a cryptocurrency that crashed,

the latest shockwave from a scandal that has threatened to slow the libertarian leader's momentum.

It's all very simple to tell on Friday night, the president of Argentina, on social media, recommended a crypto coin called Libra with a dollar sign,

capital, L-I-B-R-A.

It was a scam, apparently, from early reports, and that after an initial surge, it crashed.

And the investors, I'm told her, outside of Argentina,

Argentine crypto traders didn't have access to it. At least that's a financial times report.

I don't have paper on that. But now Mr. Malay is starting a round of interviews to say that he made a

mistake. He wasn't participating in any fashion in the profits or the losses.

He was promoting something that perhaps he shouldn't have. Why, Evan? Does this make sense after all

the success that he's had? He would plunge into something without good information. Does he need more

advisors?

Well, it's a great question, John. I think that this really reflects a combination of things that are going on in Argentina. One, Javier Malay is both an economist and very unorthodox person
