from the hospital in Bogota shows neurological improvement.

We also learned that his wife calls for peace, national unity.

However, he was shot during a campaign event in Bogota. The significance here is that

Rebe, who has no relation, I understand, to the former president of Rebe, represented at 39 the future for

Colombia and was seen as a presidential contender, perhaps not in lead, but certainly talked about.

His family has a history of suffering from violence, and Colombia now highlights the violence

that is always part of the story of the 20th century and the drug cartels and perhaps the 21st.
