The Newsboys are suing the Roy's Report. I'm Julie Roy's, founder of The Roy's Report, which is both the name of this podcast and our independent online news site. And last night, I learned online that the Newsboys filed a lawsuit in Tennessee District Court against the Roy's report, me and our reporter, Jessica Morris.

I still haven't been served, but I saw the post on the Newsboys Instagram yesterday announcing the

who are being sued. The once mega popular band is also suing more than two dozen companies

in individuals in contemporary Christian music, including Mercy Me and Bart Millard.

According to the lawsuit, the Roy's reports groundbreaking reporting on alleged sexual abuse

by former newsboy's frontman Michael Tate was part of a vast conspiracy to defame the band

and steal business. If you followed our reporting, you know that Jessica Morris was a reporter

who broke this huge story for us. Over a two-and-a-half-year period, Jessica interviewed more

than 50 sources. These included multiple men and women who alleged they were assaulted by people

associated with the Newsboys. These sources also claimed officials in the newsboys organization
