Hello and welcome to the game theory podcast offseason preview series where Bryce Simon and I

break down all 30 NBA teams offseason and there will be no sweeter offseason this time

around than the New York Knicks. The NBA champions after 53 years, we talked about them on

the show on Saturday night after their thrilling victory of the San Antonio Spurs in five

games.

Bryce, the cool thing about the offseason when you've won the title is you, I would assume,

given that most of their guys are under contract or basically just running this back.

And this will probably be a relatively short conversation just because it's a lot of

contractual stuff. It's talking about some minimum, you know, players may be coming in and

trying to make decisions on really two key free agents to me. Yeah. I mean, they're in a good

spot in terms of their entire starting lineup is under contract for at least 26, 27, 27, 27, 8.

Carlin County Towns has a player option for 2728.

I do think that their moves on the margins, how they're going to fill out the roster.

I think those are important discussions here for a team that will now be looking to repeat for the first time

in multiple years that we've seen that in the NBA. But obviously, it's a lot of celebration

right now for the New York Knicks and their fan base. And rightfully so, they also have a first round draft pick, which I think, you know, at 24, which

is exciting. They have the most exciting second round pick in terms of being at the top there.

So I do think that the draft is an avenue for them to fill out the roster, especially if

they can find some experience players coming from

college or overseas to come in and provide a little bit, even if it's just regular season

depth and minutes.

But it really is kind of those moves quote unquote on the margins for them.
