The legal tampering period begins today at noon Eastern. We are going to rank the quarterback

options the Jets have in free agency. We'll talk about some of the players the Jets are likely to

target as free agency begins, but we'll begin by talking about why you should

not have your hopes up if you want the Jets to make a lot of big splashy signings in the early

stages of free agency. Now, you may be sitting there and saying, well, the Jets are entering the

offseason with over $70 million in salary cap space. And that means that they are starting the off season with the fifth most amount of free

cap space in the league.

And you may say, well, the Jets roster is terrible.

I mean, if we're being objective, it is a dreadful roster at the moment.

They have needs up and down all across the board.

The Jets need a lot of help.

You may ask, how is it logical for the Jets to sit on a

bunch of cap space when they have needs all over the place? Shouldn't they be trying to sign
