Summary

Welcome to a brand new year! For today's special New Year's blessing meditation, I invite you to collect 4 candles in candle holders. Small votive candles work well. It's important to have a large pitcher of water nearby for safety. Please make sure to light the candles safely and keep them at a distance of at least 24 inches from your body.

*** Please do this meditation outside safely in an area that is free from any flammable materials.

Today, it's time to usher in a brand new year.

And as you're guided in today's meditation, I invite you to do a New Year's Day blessing.

This is a special ceremony that many Native American Indian cultures performed.

And they still perform it to this day.

It is where you usher in the New Year facing all the cardinal directions,

North, South, East and West.

0:56.0

To do this ceremony, if you'd like to pause and collect just a few materials, you may do so.

What you will need is four candles.

Some matches, of course always make sure that you are in a safe location when you light any candles.

You may want a picture of water near you, just in case you need to put out any candles.

I like to use small, votive candles.

You will be placing one candle in front of you, one candle behind you, one candle to your left and one candle to your right.

And make sure they're about 24 inches or so away from your body.

So you are seated in the center of this ring of candles.

Now you do not need to get candles to do this special blessing ceremony.

You may simply visualize light all around you.

I also highly recommend that you do this meditation outdoors, if at all possible.

If that's not possible, indoors is just fine.
