Greetings. My name is K-Sunga and I welcome you this Monday to Radio Headspace.

And Happy New Year. For me, I feel an enhanced sense of starting a new on my birthday and then

again on New Year's Day. It's a truly great feeling and I'm not alone in this feeling,

hence the notion of making New Year's resolutions. Every year many people make New Year's resolutions

and some stick to them while many do not. So in the spirit of the New Year and New Year's

resolutions, I thought I would do things a little differently with these episodes. For the

first eight days of this New Year, I will focus on one of the eight concepts of mindfulness

and briefly discuss how it can be helpful in guiding us to accomplish our New Year's

resolution or resolutions. And just to remind you of what the concepts are. They are non-judging,

notations, acceptance, trust, non-striving, letting go, beginners' mind, and humor.

Humor is kind of that honorable mention that I like to include.

So let's begin with non-judging, which is the concept that's really at the heart of mindfulness.

It's actually included in the definition of what mindfulness is, paying attention to the
