I'm Gianna Jalosi with your Fox True Crime Minute. More twists in the University of Idaho

murder case. According to newly unsealed court documents,

one of the four victims killed in their off-campus home in 2022 had the DNA of three different

people under her fingernails.

But the lawyers for murder suspect Brian Coburger say attest him match the traces to their

client came back with inconclusive results and they want the evidence excluded from the trial.

So far, the defense has been unsuccessful at trying to suppress DNA evidence, and now they're

trying to spare their client the death penalty, arguing he has autism. A judge in the case

warned attorneys this week to quit filing so many sealed documents, saying Koberger's attorneys

have made secrecy the norm rather than the exception,

which he argues runs counter to the public's First Amendment rights.

Koberger was studying for a criminology Ph.D.

At nearby Washington State University at the time of the quadruple homicide, his trial is scheduled

to begin August 11th.
