Have you ever found yourself trying to pray and not really knowing what to say?

Feeling awkward sitting by yourself, talking to a God who you can't see, but you believe is there?

But it doesn't feel normal or natural.

Do you know you're not alone in that feeling?

The disciples who followed Jesus for three years,

they were with him every day, day and day out.

They watched him pray, and they realized,

we don't pray like that.

So they gave him a simple request.

They said, Lord, teach us to pray.

And in that answer, we we find it in Matthew chapter six, God gave the disciples a pattern. It's known as the Lord's Prayer. Maybe you've

heard it repeated. It starts with our Father who is in heaven. Hall would be your name. But you know,

that wasn't meant to be words just recited over and over.

Jesus gave us that as a pattern for us to follow. So we're going to spend the next few days

here on daily guided prayers looking at each element of the Lord's prayer and learning how to pray

at a deeper level. So today we're going to focus on Matthew

chapter 6 and verse 9, the very beginning of the Lord's Prayer. Jesus said,

Our Father in heaven, hallow would be your name. Right now, close your eyes. I want you to

picture standing in front of the ocean.

Maybe the Atlantic or Pacific or Indian,

whichever ocean you've seen.
