We start with an update on the mass shooting yesterday at a Catholic school in Minneapolis

that killed two children and injured 18 others, most of them students.

The 23-year-old shooter is dead.

During the processing of the scene at Annunciation Church yesterday, three shotgun shells were

recovered along with approximately 116 rifle rounds. One live round was recovered from a handgun

that appears to have malfunctioned as the shooter attempted to use it and became stuck in the

chamber.

That's Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara.

He says officials conducted, quote,

dozens of interviews but haven't yet spoken to the shooter's mother.

Joe Thompson, acting U.S. attorney for the district of Minnesota,

says the shooter was, quote, obsessed with the idea of killing children. He also says the shooter admired notorious school shooters and mass killers, in quote,

expressed hate towards almost every group imaginable.
