My name is Jeff Bluck. I along with my colleague jordan bianke we are motorsports writers for the athletic

and we do this little post-race podcast each week after the nascar races in indy car and f1 and

whatever's going on but you know one of our themes all season has been, oh, you know, is there a possibility

they can get to 16 winners?

And, you know, typically our, no, we poo poo it.

It's no, it's not going to happen.

Don't pay any attention to this.

It's not a real storyline.

It's just a fantasy.

Not realistic.

Well, might need to rethink this one, Jordan.

Yeah. Door is certainly open. I'm curious if anybody walks through it.

But the idea that we could have more winners than playoff spots certainly feels, I don't know. I don't say, like, realistic, but it feels doable.

Does that make it probably a better word?

Like, you could see it.

It's conceivable, I guess.

Like, I don't think it's going to happen.

I don't think the percentage is high, but I could see a path, especially with these tracks.

You got coming up to road courses, Michigan, which I think is going to be wild.

And then Daytona, like, yeah.
