All right, everybody, welcome back to another edition of the 12 questions podcast.

My name is Jeff Gluck.

I'm a motorsport writer for The Athletic, and each week I ask

the same 12 questions to a different race car driver. Up next is Chase Elliott of Hendrick Motorsports,

the current NASCAR Cup Series points leader, the 2020 champion, and the four-time most popular

driver. I've really enjoyed seeing Chase sort of evolve

and grow over the last few years here as he seems to find his voice a little bit more and

has a few stronger opinions than he used to and is willing to share those. So I thought

now it would maybe be a great time to do the 12 questions we were able to sit down recently

at the gateway race and record this one so let's give it a listen all right everybody i'm here

with chase elliott for another 12 questions um so the first one chase is how do you feel

about people reclining their seats on airplanes i'm okay with with it, you know, I, because I want to

recline mine, so I feel like if the person in front of you leans their seat back, like I get it,

and sometimes it reminds me that I can lean mine back too, so I'm okay with it. You know,

it certainly takes away a little room for you,

but you're doing the same thing to the person behind you. So, I mean, I don't know how you're

going to complain about that. Yeah, okay. That's understandable. How often you get recognized at the

grocery store? Depends on the grocery store. I mean, it really just depends on the area. I mean,

you know, it seems like around home, it could be hit or miss.

You know, when I spend time out in Colorado, there's like a 2% chance, you know,

that you're going to see somebody that follows racing.

So it really just depends on where you are and what part of the country are you in.
