wondered how easy it is to notice the negative aspects of life but when it comes to recognizing

the good, it can take a minute or two. There's a term for this and it's called the negativity

on us than positive ones do. And I don't know about you but for me this is so true.

As a child I moved a lot. By grade 12 I had lived in eight different towns and cities

in BC Canada. My mom was working for the government as a social worker and relocated to

rural areas that were in need of more support. I think after the first three moves I kind

of got used to it. It became exciting in a sense where I could recreate my life in a new

town and nobody knew who I was. So this past December as I got ready to move to California

there was this familiar sense of excitement. Yet my mind could only focus on the obstacles

that were ahead of me. Having to pack, finding reliable movers, figuring out my social security

number, leaving my family. And when anyone would ask me, are you ready to move? My mind

would just spin these webs of negativity. And I would respond to just about everyone

with, yep, I'm excited but I'm so frustrated with X, Y and Z. I was so focused on the hardship

that I was overlooking the incredible opportunity right in front of me. A one and a million
