We start in Portland, where an appeals court will allow the Trump administration to deploy National Guard troops there.

It's an important legal victory in a showdown over presidential power that's happening on multiple fronts.

But as CNN's Nick Watt explains, it'll be a few more days before troops are seen on the

city streets.

Basically, there were two temporary restraining orders.

One, saying that the federal government could not federalize the Oregon National Guard.

The second, saying that they could not deploy federalized National Guard in Oregon.

What has been lifted is that order saying that they weren't allowed to federalize the Oregon Guard.

They can now do that, but technically they still can't deploy Federalized National Guard on these streets.

Not yet.

The federal government thinks it's just a formality for that restraining order also to be lifted.

To the war in Ukraine now, President Donald Trump's hopes for a quick meeting with Russian

President Vladimir Putin may be stalled.

Sources familiar with the matter told CNN that an expected pre-meeting between the world

leader's key for an aides this week has been tabled, at least for now.

And it's not immediately clear what impact that delay would ultimately have on the anticipated

Trump-Putin summit in Hungary's capital, Budapest.

This is all happening as more details emerge about the meeting between Ukrainian President

Volodymy Zelensky and Trump on Friday.
