Well, they've got these barriers up on the subway now so that people can't get pushed in front of the trains, which tells you all you need to know about the state of New York City.

I happened to be taking the subway over the weekend when I went up to see my old buddy Rex Reed, and I saw these yellow barriers there, and I thought they were doing track work.

And that's what they were for. I had no idea they were to protect me

from some lunatic who might shove me in front of the train. So anyway, Natalie Migliori, Lion and Michael. Yeah, well, a lot of subway riders had the same reaction you did this

morning. They were a little confused about what these yellow barriers at the Washington Heights

station, what they were there for. It's the first of four that will be part of the MTA's pilot program.

These yellow barriers are along the one line.

And in terms of height, they only come up to the bottom of the conductor's window on the subway train.

And there's really no pattern to have their space stout throughout the platform.

I've watched riders get on and off

the trains all morning with really kind of no problem. And the NTA has been brainstorming ways

to make the track safer, especially when it comes to falling and pushing incidents. So some

riders are skeptical while others are pleased with the changes. This train station is too cluttered.

So putting a barrier in between the doors,

it's going to be more traffic in and out of the train station.

So hopefully it works and hopefully, you know,

our money that's being taken from us has been being used.

I'm not sure it's going to be exactly in the door, but it's going to be safety, yeah.

It's much safer.

I'm sure it's going to be much safer about that.

That helps a lot, especially for people who have an accident or, you know, those guys who push

some people for fun.
