The top running back on the market is officially off the board as Naji Harris agreed to terms

with the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year deal worth up to $9.25 million. Don't have the

official contract details here, but the up-to part means we're looking at incentives here. It's a one-year

deal, so essentially we're in prove-it territory as well. But honestly, did not expect the running back market to be

too hot this year. Of course, we'll talk about the implications for Harris in Los Angeles and the

fallout in Pittsburgh, but really quickly on the running back market. Of course, last year was

kind of unprecedented. Not even kind of. It was unprecedented. We had seen a decline at the position overall, just in terms of

the value, a lot more teams moving to timeshare situations, a lot less of these guys, getting

that lucrative free agent contract that they see wide receivers get, certainly other positions, tight ends, et cetera,

not that tight ends get that much, but they at least get to free agency potentially here

or get re-signed by the respective teams.

And meanwhile, running back is kind of getting left behind.

Well, Sequin Barkley certainly helped change that narrative along with Derek Henry and

the success that they had had they

gone out and put up duds of seasons maybe it would be a different landscape but the arrow is pointing

up for running backs Josh Jacobs another one there the Joe Mixin deal even though it wasn't a free agency

acquisition Aaron Jones did well.

I mean, I look at the top of the board.

Some of the top paid guys are elder statesmen at the position and are coming off of

solid seasons.
