Smith and Callie Black. Hey, it's Callie Black here with today's thought. Let's open up to Abraham

Chapter 1, verse 19. Take a moment and think about some of your favorite gospel teachers,

who were really effective in teaching you about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Immediately, a few names come to my mind of leaders who taught me when I was in young women's,

in seminary, and in college religion classes.

One thing I've noticed about these great gospel teachers is that they consistently pointed me to the Savior.

These teachers didn't have to tell me how good of a teacher they were or show off how awesome they were.

They showed it by teaching me more about the Savior with every class.

I'm sure that Abraham was a fantastic teacher.

As he started his ministry, though, I love that the Lord gave him this same little lesson in

Abraham chapter 1, verse 19. The Lord is saying this to Abraham. Through thy ministry,

my name shall be known in the earth forever.

The purpose of Abraham's ministry was not to spread Abraham's name far and wide.

It was to spread the Lord's name far and wide, And that should be our real purpose every time we teach

the gospel. So the takeaway of the day in five words or less, my ministry for his name.
