Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures, we are going to be diving into Genesis 13,

verses 8 through 9. Now, following the deaths of both his brother and father, Abraham took his nephew Lott under his wing. They lived together

for years. They grew in possessions and prosperity until they finally arrived in Canaan. Both Abraham

and Lott had large flocks of animals who needed space to graze and water to drink, and soon

arguments began to erupt between their herdsmen. The land could not possibly support so many

animals and people in one place. Abraham was the older of the two men. Lot should technically

be subservient to Abraham, who had watched over him for years. But Abraham approached Lot and

humbly said, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee. Is not the whole land before thee?

Separate thyself, I pray thee from me. If thou will take the left hand, then I will go to the right.

Or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. In other words, possessions don't matter to me nearly as much as our relationship does. You choose where to settle first, and I'll take

whatever is left. Abraham taught a lot and the rest of us an important lesson through his example.
