I am Karen Hunter and the people I speak with are the awesome ones.

Well, sometimes the conversations get so heated or amazing that we have to do a part

to.

My class was Stokely, Con Michael, which changed his name, of course. We were all philosophy

major. Stokely, Ackland Lynch, Colin Cox, and us, and they called us the nerds. So I was at

Howard. I had Rayford Logan who taught me all about history of Haiti

and the United States and Haiti of what they did to the Haitians. I learned all that very early.

Elsie Lewis, History of the South, all the great people. Tony Morrison teaching that. Tony was

teaching there too. She didn't teach me, but she was in the English department when I was there.

So it was a great time. I became a philosophy major because I was a nerd. And I had been a

science major. I did all the sciences. And then I got sick of them. And then I said, I'm glad I did

them because he gave me a perspective on things. Oh, my goodness. Blueprint Professor Dr. Mary Francis Berry, Howard University,

Stokely Carmichael in your class. Tony Morrison's teaching in the English department.

You are sitting under the great Rayford Logan and you're in the sciences, but got bored with that

and they came over here and oh my goodness.

Tell us something about Stokely Carmichael because I feel like this, we may not know who's going to stand up in this time.

But we know it's going to be, it's got to be young people because they're, this is their time.
