0:12.5	Erica welcome to the program. Hi, Dr. Laura. Thanks for taking my call today. Thank you. What can I do for you. Yes, thank you. I wanted to get your advice.
0:27.0	I recently left my job as my position changed. I've worked just graduated school and I've been working in private equity so the hours and the stress load has been really heavy.
0:37.0	And now I'm at a crossroads of what to do next. If I should keep going down this path for the opportunities that come out of it, even though I didn't love many parts of it or explore new things.
0:48.0	And I feel a lot of pressure to continue in this industry, but I don't know when it's time to walk away or to put your head down and work through.
1:00.0	You don't sound irresponsible to me. I can sort of tell things by how people speak and I think this is not your heart.
1:09.0	So if people were not telling you what they think you ought to be doing, what do you think is your heart?
1:17.0	Yeah, you're right, doctor. I think I think a lot of entrepreneurial things. There's a few different things that really interest me, but would require going back to school.
1:27.0	So I don't know if the why do you have to go back to school to do this entrepreneurial thing? Why?
1:36.0	Entrepreneurial, I don't think I would have to go back to school, but some other interest.
1:41.0	I'm really interested in the aerospace industry, which would require going back to school, but entrepreneurial stuff I think I could do without, because I do have a business degree.
1:51.0	Then do that.
2:00.0	Thank you. And how do you think I should go about maintaining expectations with others and navigating that?
2:10.0	I am the architect of my own life. Say it.
2:16.0	Yeah, I like that. I'm the architect of my own life.
2:21.0	This is what gives me joy. This gets me excited. This is what I want to do.
2:26.0	Period. If they're disappointed, pissed off, frankly, my dear, don't give it damn.
2:35.0	Even if it's bothering you.
2:38.0	Because it's not their life. They were the architects of their lives. Did they do what they really wanted to do? I doubt it.
2:46.0	Yeah, most people don't.
2:50.0	I did. You're right.
2:52.0	I had a PhD in physiology from the medical school of Columbia University to become a college professor, university professor and do research.
