0:14.0	Hi, Dr. Laura. Hi. What can I do for you?
0:18.0	So great to talk to you. So I've been mulling over this and I just thought I listen to your show yesterday and I thought, you know what I'm just going to call her.
0:26.0	I've been in therapy since I was in college and I'm 37 years old and I love counseling.
0:31.0	And I started going because my relationship with my father was not good.
0:36.0	And so many decades or so many years later, I realized I can't change him.
0:43.0	I can't ask him to act differently towards me. He was very emotionally abusive to me very and to my mother as well.
0:52.0	And I have these OCD tendencies that helped me to suppress some of those feelings that I've worked on that as well.
1:02.0	But he is showing the same behavior towards my three kids. They showed to me when I was a kid.
1:09.0	And my husband and I already cursed. It occurs to me that he couldn't do that if you didn't give him access to your kids. That that just occurs to me.
1:19.0	Correct. Correct. So are you being as irresponsible and weak as your mother was?
1:26.0	No, no. I called upon it.
1:30.0	Yeah, but you give him access to your kids to do it.
1:34.0	After being in therapy, your whole adult life.
1:38.0	You still gave him access to your kids.
1:42.0	I did.
1:43.0	Well, how do you explain that?
1:45.0	I don't know.
1:50.0	It's like hoping that things will change, but they won't.
1:54.0	And they're responsible of you to hope on your kids lives.
1:59.0	That is it is irresponsible. I agree.
