House Republicans are turning to an issue that has haunted their party politically, nationally and locally,

at least in the last two years, or at least since the Dobbs decision, and that is abortion.

At the behest of the newly sworn in Republican majority, the House is gearing up to vote on two

messaging bills. We call them messaging bills because they have no chance in the Senate.

It concern abortion, zero chance of becoming law. So it's really about essentially putting out a press release to say you passed said bill.

Nonetheless, just the act of doing it matters to the Republican base.

And it's very important to certain conservative power brokers within said GOP base.
