Samuel chapter 9 in verse 1 through 6 in the new living translation of the scripture, you'll find these words.

One day David asked, is anyone in Saul's family still alive?

Anyone to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan's sake?

He summoned a man named Ziba, who had been one of Saul's servants. Are you Ziba,

the king asked? Yes, sir, I am. Zibba replied. The king then asked him, is anyone still alive

from Saul's family? If so, I want to show kindness to them." Zibba replied, yes, one of Jonathan's

sons is still alive. He is crippled in both feet. Where is he the king asked? In Lodabar,

Zibber told him, at the home of Makir, son of Amiel.

And so David sent for him and brought him from Mekir's home.

And his name was Mephiboshev.

He was Jonathan's son and Saul's grandson.

When he came to David, he bowed low to the ground in deep respect.

David said, greetings, Mephevichov.

And Mephoshephevich replied,

I am your servant.

We're talking today from the subject simply moving up.

Moving up, moving up.

Hallelujah. You may be seated. You may be seated.

Isn't it amazing that out of a friendship between King David and Jonathan Saul's son,

sometimes you may not always have relationship with the king himself,

but if you can have relationship with the king's son, you're doing pretty good.

One of the reasons that Jonathan was so critical to David is because Jonathan lived in the palace.
