What is up everyone? This is Alex Lieberman, co-founder and CEO of Morning Brew, coming to you with another episode of the Founders Journal.

For you Founders Journal listeners that have been listening more regularly, You probably noticed that we've been off for just

over a week. Reason for that is there's been a lot going on in the world and honestly a lot of stuff that's far more important than me

talking about the difference between a project manager and a product manager and

what goes into brand architecture and so I wanted to make sure that this last week,

I cleared the space so that the most important voices,

the voices that need to be heard, were heard.

We're back with the show and it's not going to be a totally a totally normal

episode usually producer Josh is part of the show asking questions pushing me to go deeper into topics.

But today you just have me and what I'm going to do is share my remarks that I

gave to the entire Morning Brew team earlier today. My thoughts after two and a

half weeks of reading, education, reflection around what I can do as an individual to take action and make a difference

as it relates to systemic discrimination in this country, but also how I think about what we

can do as an organization. I'm going to share these remarks

and one thing to keep in mind is that there were two other people who provided a

ton of great context in this morning meeting. Kate, our head of people at Morning Brew, as well as

Samir, our head of content. You're not going to hear them, so you're not going to hear all of the remarks,

but hopefully you get a flavor of what I addressed and hopefully

whether you're an individual a professional a manager there's something to take away from

this in how we can all join hands and do good for the world and help do our part

Here goes nothing morning everyone. I don't want to start this meeting in typical fashion as these are anything but typical times.
