Good afternoon, Maria. Yes, people all across the country have been watching this trial

intently, but nobody except those of us in the courtroom today saw what happened this morning.

The judge ordered the courtroom camera to be turned off, and so we have no recording of these children's testimonies.

The niece, she's now 16 years old, and the nephew of John O'Keefe,

he is now 13, both remained calm and composed as they were there on the witness stand, speaking

to the jury. Now the nephew, he described his uncle, John O'Keefe, and Reed's relationship

as, quote, sometimes rough. He said Reed was nice to him and his sister sometimes and would

take them places, but he also said there were a few times when they got in trouble and got yelled at by Reed.

Now, the niece, she said O'Keefe had asked Reed to leave their home at one point, telling her that their relationship had, quote, run its course.

But she said, Reed refuse.

The niece also described Reed waking her up early on the morning of January 29th, the morning that O'Keefe was killed, saying, quote, that Reid had said something like, maybe I did something, and then later maybe a snowplow hit him.

Now, throughout the children's testimonies, the children referred to Karen Reid as, quote, the defendant. They avoided directly looking at her, even though she was just a few feet away.
