This is CBSI on the world. Behind the Black. I'm John Batcher. Bob Zimmerman is here. We're going to the moon because Bob is emphasizing discoveries that are inconsistent with the expectations of moon landings. Bob, the craters on the moon. There's the mystery.

What we have here is there's a camera on a North, a South Korean lunar orbiter called Danari called Shadowcam, designed to take images,

0:31.5

I still the images in low light situations, very low light situations, such as permanently shattered craters on the moon.

0:37.8

This is to see if you can spot ice in those craters.

0:40.4

And it's consistently taking pictures of a bunch of craters at the South Pole and not seen

0:45.1

any obvious ice, not seen any obvious ice.

0:47.9

I'm pretty much the only one reporting these facts because it's not encouraging, but

0:52.7

it's unfortunately real.

0:54.3

Well, the science team released another image, this time from a crater in the South Pole

1:00.4

that's permanently shattered called Hermes-A.

1:02.8

And I've got this up on behind the black.

1:04.7

And once again, there's no obvious evidence of ice in this crater.

1:08.8

Now, that doesn't mean it's not ice impregnated within the soil,

1:12.7

the regular. It could be there. We don't know how much. But there's no obvious evidence of it.

1:17.9

And this is unfortunate, but it does suggest strongly, all the data from Shadowcam is suggesting

1:23.3

strongly that the hope we're going to find easily, a lot of quantities of easily accessible

1:28.2

water ice is proving false. It might not be true. So that's the news from the moon, John.

1:35.5

Webb has taken an infrared image of an exoplanet and learned what?

1:40.1

Oh, you know, because it looks at infrared, it sees things differently. And that's a lot of

1:44.1

that has to spectroscopy and data. but what's interesting about this is they actually

1:47.9

they blocked out the light of the star it's about 111 light years away and uh and it's about

1:54.2

half the mass of our sun and they were able to see within its accretion disk a very bright
