instead of driving to someone else's

family. We had never been that. My mom spent most of her time scrolling Pinterest for

Tablescape inspiration. My dad's dressed about making his turkey brine taste like the Michelin chef video he bookmarked.

They talked about this holiday like it was a performance that would fix everything broken between them.
