So Carla Marie and I were out and about this weekend in Seattle. And Tiffany from Target, that's what she's going to be known as, because we saw her at Target. And she yelled out, you look great. We were like, what? I thought I was wearing like, you look great hoodie or something and I wasn't. For a change, neither of us were. So hi, Tiffany. And she actually said, I love the podcast, which was really cool to hear. And then we were at Hello Robin getting some cookies at University Village, also in Seattle. And we met Lori and our friend Lori.

Yeah, double Lurys.

And also loved the podcast.

So that was really freaking cool.

Later today, President Biden is expected to issue a statement about a new Indo-Pacific trade pact that is meant to allow the United States to work more closely with key Asian economies on issues like supply chains,

digital trade, clean energy, and anti-corruption. However, one important partner will be left off the list of countries in the deal. It's being reported that Taiwan will not be mentioned in an

attempt to please China, America's most powerful trade partner.

Navigating the Chinese-Taiwanese relationship is difficult for every country and administration. Taiwan is a self-governing island and in almost every way is considered a country.

But since China claims it as its own, many governments are hesitant to publicly acknowledge

Taiwan in order to stay on China's good side.

The Biden administration did say, even though Taiwan isn't named in the trade agreement, they will continue to work with suppliers in Taiwan, which is unbelievably important since Taiwan produces more semiconductors than China, Japan, and all of Europe.

And semiconductors are an essential component in every electronic device, from cell phones

to military equipment and even healthcare.

Without semiconductors, we don't have electronics.
