Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

A salence opened fire at an Orthodox church, a synagogue, and a police post in Russia yesterday evening.

The attacks took place across two cities in the Russian Republic of Dagestan.

More than 15 police officers and several civilians were killed according to officials, and an Orthodox priest was among the dead.

It appeared to be a coordinated attack, but there was no immediate claim of responsibility. State news outlets blamed, quote,

adherents of an international terrorist organization, and they said the attackers used foreign weapons.

They were citing law enforcement agencies. For years, Russia has

battled a homegrown Islamist insurgency in this Muslim majority region. Christian and Jewish

religious sites in Dagestan have frequently been targeted by extremists.

Number two, Donald Trump suggested that migrants should fight each other for entertainment.

Trump held two campaign events on Saturday. At both of them, he talked about a conversation

he said he had with his friend Dana White. That's the president of the

ultimate fighting championship. Here's what Trump said in a speech to Christian

conservatives. I said, Dana, I have an idea. Why don't you set up a migrant league of fighters and have your regular

league of fighters and then you have the champion of your league.

These are the greatest fighters in the world. Fight the champion of your league. These are the greatest fighters in the world.

Fight the champion of the migrants. I think the migrant guy might win. That's how tough they are.

These comments are part of a wider pattern. Trump uses dehumanizing language when talking about immigrants.
