Let's start our week off with a COVID update.

Believe me, I too would love to be done talking about this, but over the weekend, Dr. Anthony

Fauci said that he was very frustrated that America is headed in the wrong direction

with the virus.

He added that the government is under active consideration regarding a new recommendation

that vaccinated people wear masks indoors, as well as about potential booster shots for

people with suppressed immune systems.

Currently, only 49% of the total U.S. population is fully vaccinated.

However, 57% of those eligible, aka age 12 and over, are fully vaccinated.

Fauci's announcement comes after a new study out of Israel suggests that the Pfizer vaccine

may only be 39% effective against the Delta variant.

The study does caveat that the shot remains more than 90% effective in preventing severe

disease, so you should still probably get it if you haven't.

Along with the results, Israeli scientists caution that the new study is much smaller than

the first, and that it measured cases in a narrower window of time.

But regardless, definitely something to consider.

So I think I'm personally going to go back to masking, I guess.

The House Select Committee that's investigating the January 6th insurrection is scheduled to

start its work this week, but not without controversy over who would be on it.
