The show director of the Olympics opening ceremony has been fired, just one day before

the ceremony is taking place.

After footage from the 1990s resurface, where he appears to be making jokes about the

Holocaust, is no one getting the hint that maybe these Olympics are just not meant to happen.

Yesterday, several major websites went down in a widespread outage, including Amazon,

Delta Airlines, Capital One, GoDaddy, UPS, AT&T, and Costco.

The outage was apparently due to an issue within the Content Distribution Network Akamai,

that was caused by a software update triggered by a bug.

The company made clear that the issue was not caused by a cyber attack, and the disruption

lasted about an hour before it was fixed.

At least it wasn't the Russians this time.

In a brief file yesterday, the state of Mississippi is asking the Supreme Court to overrule

Robi Wade in order to uphold the state's restrictions on abortion access.

Mississippi is requesting that the court approve a law that would ban most abortions after

15 weeks of pregnancy.

And the court will hear arguments in the case this fall, so be sure to make that IUD appointment

as soon as you can.

New projections released this week suggest that the current COVID-19 surge in the US is

expected to steadily accelerate through the summer and fall, and peak in mid-October,
