shoulder, giving me a hug. But the outpouring has been amazing over the past 24, 48 hours.

It's a Sunday afternoon right now as I'm recording this.

But my dad passed away just this past week just a couple days ago.

And, you know, it's just one of those things that everybody goes through

this at some point in their life, but until it happens to you, you don't really feel the

full brunt of it. My dad, was my stepdad when I first met him. He came into my life when I was just

about 10 years of age, but he's so much more

than that and actually officially adopted me. And he is every bit my real dad. And he just passed

away at age 90. So it's been my privilege for him to have been my dad for 50 years.

And I cannot have asked for a better father, a better example, someone whose priorities were right.

His advice was always measured and timely, his walk with the Lord, his sincerity, just everything. Faithfulness, he is just a bit, really tough

shoes to fill. And my mom so faithful to him, caring for him. He's really been on the

downhill slide here physically for quite some time. And I preached a whole message

this morning at church about just the brevity of life and what we can learn from the bonus

years that God gives us in life, like Hezekiah, remember, who made some bad choices,

but my dad made some good choices and just really thinking a lot
