Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun announced he is retiring at the end of the year.

So why does this matter to employees or even the flying public?

Boeing is one of the only commercial airplane makers in the world.

And industry analyst, Richard

Albu Lofia, says Boeing needed this. You know, I think this is the first good news the

companies had in quite some time. A change was badly needed. And given the extent of these changes,

that implies something broader happening here. And depending upon the successor to Dave Calhoun,

it could even imply a big cultural shift that's very good for the company.

Calhoun became CEO in 2020 after former CEO Dennis Mullenberg was ousted for how he handled

two deadly Boeing crashes. His resignation announcement today comes amidst more trouble.

Three federal agencies, including the Department of Justice,

are investigating why a plane part blew off mid-flight in January.

An elections update, Washington State will send two uncommitted delegates

to the Democratic National Convention this summer.

That's according to a spokesperson from the state Democratic Party.

The Seattle Times reports that more than 15% of Democratic voters in the 7th Congressional District

voted uncommitted on their ballots in the presidential primary earlier this month.

That congressional district includes most of Seattle, Vashon Island, and parts of Burian.

Activists organized this protest vote, snagging two delegates to criticize President Biden's handling of the Israel-Humas War.

But Biden secured the vast majority of the states pledged Democratic delegates.
