March, but there have been at least nine fatal shootings already in the city. That number will certainly

grow. Gun violence has become more and more common in the past few years, and while everyone

agrees that's a problem, the solutions are hard to settle on. Today, we'll talk with Marcus Harrison

Green, about one solution proposed by Mayor Bruce Harrell's office, surveillance technology that alerts police to the sound of gunshots.

We'll talk more about that in a minute.

But first, let's get you caught up.

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments today on the case challenging FDA approval on the popular abortion drug Miffa Pristone.

Washington, Senator Patty Murray led an effort from 263 members of Congress to file an amicus brief on the case.

Senator Maria Cantwell also signed the brief, which urges the Supreme Court to

overturn a ruling that would restrict access to the drug.

The Udub Somali Student Association says it was the target of a hate letter sent in the early

days of Ramadan. The letter uses a racial slur and anti-Islamic rhetoric in response to the group's stance

on the Israel-Hamas war. The group says they're planning a demonstration on campus later this

week. And Tanya Wu has her first challenger in this year's Seattle City Council's citywide race.
