Welcome to another episode of Lurie Breaks It Down, a podcast where we dig deeply to connect the dots on the issues that shape our world.

0:20.0

I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay, thank you so much. Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share, because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. We have a ritual on this show, and the ritual is one that allows us, because I usually

0:54.7

get to the ritual before we do all of this stuff. What, I'm sorry, I mean, I just saw, okay,

1:00.4

I just saw a message that disturbed my spirit. We're going to wait on that message in a minute,

1:04.6

but we, but usually what happens newcomers is that we actually have a ritual that we engage in

1:10.1

before I get to the discussion of what's happening in the popular reality or in the news that we're experiencing.

1:16.6

And that ritual is called a moment of gratitude because the work that we do here in Black Talklandia is really hard work.

1:22.2

As you can just see from the, that was off the top.

1:24.5

Like I was not planning to have that particular conversation right now. I am planning to have it. Just wasn't planning to have it right now. It's just, it's what bubbled up. But typically what happens is we employ this ritual called a moment of gratitude that allows us, before we get into the hot and heavy news, that allows us to really tap into a sense of joy, gratitude, and appreciation. And that is important because when we are rooted in joy,

1:45.5

gratitude, and appreciation, we cannot also be trapped by fear, loneliness, and depression. And so this

1:50.4

is significant because this work is hard. Calling out and calling in your own is difficult work,

1:55.2

trying to build a better life and a better future for the society that you're living. It's difficult

1:58.7

work. And that's before we even get to the fact that life be life in and so this ritual called a moment of gratitude is designed to

2:04.8

allow us to have these conversations with a bit of gratitude and joy and it's pretty simple so simple

2:10.0

in fact it goes a little something like this in just a minute you're going to hear music and

2:15.5

that music is going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us, because when we hear it, we are going to collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest, and the most lung capacity expanding, the most joyful heart and vigor, rate, and troubled, mind, cleansing, and weary, so uplifting, the most amazingly juicy breath.

2:30.5

As we kick off our most important segment of every single day, it is time for our moment of gratitude.

2:37.0

Music Every day, folks, every day we got to do it. And as you can see, every day it really does matter.

3:09.4

Shout out to the team.

3:10.5

Appreciate all the work that y'all do to help this show to flow.

3:13.6

Shout out to all of you in the Urban View family to the Nubians.

3:16.7

It is just good to be in communication with all of you.
