| 0:00.0 | Welcome to another episode of Lurie Breaks It Down, a podcast where we dig deeply to connect the dots on the issues that shape our world. |
| 0:20.0 | I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay, thank you so much. Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share, because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. Now, before we get to any of these things, of course, we also have a ritual on this show. And the ritual is a pretty significant one, because it is a ritual that allows us to intentionally tap into emotions of joy, gratitude, and appreciation. Those emotions in particular are important because when you're doing the work of Black Talklandia, frankly, it can be a little difficult, right? It can be a little heavy on the spirit. And when you add to the work of Black Talklandia, the fact that we are living lives as human beings, that can be a lot. It can be overwhelming to say the least. And so we employ this ritual called a moment of gratitude every single day because it allows us a bit of a reprieve. It allows us to reset and put ourselves into the best energetic position that we possibly can be. |
| 1:30.0 | So that as we do the work of dissecting these stories and figuring out our responsibility for the knowledge we have gained, |
| 1:36.2 | then we are able to do so with a reminder of our power, both individual and collective. |
| 1:41.5 | So the ritual is called, again, a moment of gratitude. |
| 1:43.7 | And it's pretty simple. So simple, in fact, again, a moment of gratitude, and it's pretty |
| 1:44.3 | simple. So simple, in fact, it goes a little something like the... In just a minute you're going to hear music. That music is going to be an invitation to you, and that invitation is going to invite you to join the rest of us, because when we hear the music, we are going to collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest and most lung capacity expanding, |
| 2:01.3 | joyful heart invigorate, and troubled non-cleansing, |
| 2:03.4 | and we're a soul uplifting the most amazingly juicy breath. |
| 2:07.4 | As we kick off our most important segment of every single day, |
| 2:10.8 | it is time for our moment of gratitude. |
| 2:13.8 | Thank you. gratitude. Every day, folks, we got to do it. |
| 2:43.3 | And every day it matters. |
| 2:45.1 | Shout out to the team. |
| 2:46.2 | Shout out to the Urban View community, the YouTube and the podcast community. |
| 2:49.8 | And of course, the Nudians, just grateful |
| 2:52.1 | to be in this space. And this week, we are continuing our look at community care. We started that, |
| 2:57.7 | I think it was yesterday or the day before, and we defined community care as a few things that are |
| 3:03.7 | going to, you know, involve some goalposts for us, right? So this is a moment of gratitude |
| 3:07.9 | that's also got some assignments attached to it. Now, as we learned yesterday, community care |
| 3:12.6 | is the type of care that involves more than one person. And it is really the type of care |
| 3:17.1 | that, frankly, is thinking about how we can provide benefit to the people in our lives, how we can |
