Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View Network, Channel 126. And that is a ritual that we use every

day to make sure that we are doing what it is that we can in order to tap into a few key emotions.

These emotions are emotions of joy, gratitude, and appreciation. Now, these emotions

matter because not only have our lived experiences confirmed this for us, but science actually

supports the notion that when you are rooted in gratitude, when you're rooted in joy and

appreciation, you cannot also be trapped by fear, loneliness, and depression. And that really matters because on my

show and frankly during this podcast, I create an experience called Black Talklandia. And Black Talk

landia is the name of the space where we do our best to embody the best in the Black Talk radio

tradition. And that means that whether it's on my show or on this podcast, we have the difficult

conversations about how our world got to be so very messy when it comes to issues of race, gender, culture, identity, politics, and the law.

And we do that work every day because having those difficult discussions helps us learn how to be better people who learn how to build better communities.

And as a result, we're then able to shape a

better world and for us that is how talk empowers and becomes action so before we get into the news

and before we get to the heavy work of the lorri daniel favors show we have a ritual called a moment of

gratitude and that moment of gratitude is the segment where we intentionally curate some sort

of environment, whether it's because we look at something together or there's a recitation of a poem

or perhaps I'll play a video clip, something that will allow my audience and I to connect in ways that go

beyond our intellect and really tap into the power that we have emotionally, mentally, and spiritually when we come

together for the greater good. The ritual is pretty simple, so simple. In fact, it goes a little
