Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Maroon Friday edition of the yard. It's also the first day of fall football practice for Mississippi State. Yes, I understand we're still in the dog days of summer, but that's where we are. excited to get out there. We're going to talk about some fall practice stuff today. Whatever you want to call it. It's hot, man. It's hot. It's going to be in the mid-90s today. Glad I'm not putting on shoulder pads and helmets today. I can promise you. Hope everybody out there stays hydrated. You know, it wasn't too long ago. It was a few days ago.

We had a fatality at Brandon High School,

apparently due to some heat-related issues.

Don't know all the details, but we send our thoughts and prayers out to the family,

to the coaching staff, to everybody that cared about that young man. It's never one of

those easy things, man, when young people die. Never is. Death is always difficult to deal

with, especially when it's a young person in the, in the prime of their life. So everybody out there,

be careful. Protect yourself. so let's uh let's make sure that um

you know we're doing the things we need to to kind of be safe in this heat and i'd say the

older i get uh the less i enjoy these mississippi, and I don't mean that I don't enjoy,

you know, having some time off, I guess, in some respects, but, man, I guess I'm just getting old.

It just seems like it's hotter these days. I look forward to fall. Fall is my favorite season of the

year. It lasts about two weeks because we go from summer to frigid rather quickly.

I remember being a kid, it seemed like fall lasted forever.

You know, it started around the middle of September.

Next thing you know, it's just kind of cool and it feels like football season.

Like having that little chill in the air right but looking

forward to that looking forward to football season you know we had the Hall of Fame game last

night that's like the first real you know event of football season so we'll have some football

here to watch in the next few weeks and the next

thing, you know, so we're some college football stuff. So excited about that. I know you guys are

as well. Excited to see our Bulldogs on the practice field today. A lot of questions. And maybe that's
