They didn't play well, but I didn't think it was worthy of termination.

You know, we'll find out, because here's the thing, too, I've learned about those rumors.

There's a lot of these fan-generated, you know, rumors, and then what happens is people want to get ahead of the game.

You may recall some time ago, we had a head football coach named Joe Moorhead.

And the day of the Egg Bowl, we had some people within our own fan base that despised

Joe Moorhead so much that they spread these rumors that Joe Moorhead had already agreed to

buy out that he was crying during dogwalk and none of those things were true and then we in the media

try to run those things down and try to refute those rumors and as I said back then it makes no sense

whatsoever to have Mississippi State have taken such a stance with Joe Moorhead.

It was just absolute shameful.

Some of our own people created some of these rumors.

And then I had players in the locker room texting and direct messaging me saying,

hey, what's going on with Joe?

While they're getting ready to play Ole Miss in the biggest game of the year,

a game that would determine if we had a winning season, or pardon me, a bowl eligible season,
